Second Life tool tour area available to view for 1 week

Erica Driver (owner of the ThinkBalm island from which I conducted the Second Life portion of the tool tour) has allowed the tools to remain until next Tuesday (August 4th). So, if you didn't get a chance to check them out on Monday, feel free to jump into Second Life and get a closer look.

I'll keep the tools I showcased in ReactionGrid in place for the next few weeks for anyone to view.

iED Presentation on Immersive Collaboration Tools

For my presentation on the most practical immersive collaboration tools available for Second Life & Open Sim at Monday’s Immersive Education Day, I will not be showing them via powerpoint, but rather as a tour in the immersive environments. I’ll post more on the tools I chose to highlight in a later post. For now, here are locations and instructions on how to join the tour in-world.

Time: approximately 1pm CDT

Jeff, I really appreciated your presentation at iED and I got a lot of ideas for potential applications that we can begin developing for iSocial! The big question I had was how you went about finding those tools. I would like to do some further research into other tools that people are using in Second Life to get even more ideas. Is there a central resource that you used, or have you compiled these resources from your experiences and networking with others?

I'll be attending in person and presenting on collaboration tools for educational use. My entire presentation will be from SL & OS, so you will be able to "attend" in person :)

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the welcome. I will not be attending the conference though I hope to keep up with what's going on through the ning and twitter. It might be a possibility for next year.
