Hi - My name is John and I work at a public school in Washington, DC. I was an English/Language Arts middle school teacher for 14 years. I am now looking forward to my new assignment as a Technology teacher at a transition high school. Many of the students have behavioral problems and/or are facing a variety of other issues. I think that technology can get these kids into thinking about traditional content in a nontraditional way. I'm excited about seeing and hearing how virtual environments can enhance traditional content. I've gotten the Wiimote up and running, now I want to set up a virtual classroom.

Hi everyone,
I am doing my master's degree on Technology of education and I am interested on Group cognition in immersive worlds, I choose Second Life. For almost five years the architecture department at my University (Laval University, Québec City Canada) have been using Second Life to make 3D modeling. I would like to have comments about the collaborative teaching practices on Second Life and if there are significant difference between face to face and online activities on Second Life.
Thanks for your contribution
Liane
